Brian Cox, President and CEO

Prior to starting MFX, Brian ran the Europe and Eurasia Division at the U.S. Treasury Department and oversaw a $70 million fund supporting bank-based microfinance in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. He also served as Executive Vice President of the US-Russia Business Council, as a consultant to microfinance investors, and as an analyst in a venture capital firm. As an entrepreneur, he started a company building houses in Eastern Europe and Africa. Brian has a BA and MBA both from Stanford University. Brian is fluent in French with basic Spanish and Russian.

 

Jorge Santisteban, Director of Hedging Services

Jorge joined MFX in November 2008 to manage the front office and client services functions. Jorge has 15 years experience trading currency derivatives and working with small business clients on their currency risk management needs. He began his career at Banco Nacional de Mexico and built the derivatives department at Bank Mifel which focused on small and medium sized clients. More recently his been a manager at American Express Bank and Citi Private Bank in their currency derivative operations. Jorge graduated from Universidad Panamericana. He speaks fluent Spanish and English.

 

Anmol Chandan, Director of Finance and Operations

Anmol joined MFX in July 2009 to manage finance, treasury, and back office functions.  Anmol has over 15 years experience in finance, accounting and treasury operations and is a Chartered Accountant (England). He has spent his early career as a manager with Deloitte & Touche in Botswana and then held financial management positions at BC Hydro (Canada), Lafarge North America and Fannie Mae. Anmol has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Bombay and speaks fluent English and Hindi.

 

Sonia Mukhi, Senior Analyst

Sonia joined MFX in April 2009 to assist with hedging operations and other business related activities, including its education programs. Prior to MFX she worked in consulting, as well as with an MFI in rural India through the organization Ashoka. She received her Msc. in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics, where she focused on exchange rate policy in developing countries. Sonia also holds a BS in International Politics from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She has served on the Steering Committee for the DC Chapter of Women Advancing Microfinance, and currently serves on the Board for the Financial Inclusion Forum of DC.

 

Katie Wiegold, Analyst

Katie joined MFX in July 2011 to assist with back office functions and operations. Prior to MFX, Katie worked as a Financial Analyst on a Government contract with the Office of International Affairs in the Department of Homeland Security.  She has also worked as a Program Financial Analyst for Harris Corporation and has experience with financial modeling and engineering in C++. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Finance and Mathematics from James Madison University.
